You just want to eat an apple in the morning. You just want to nibble on a bit of cheese or salami at night.
Yet every single time, we pull out a heavy cutting board, slice the food, and then bother to transfer it onto a plate. And after eating, we have to wash both of them.
"CHOPLATE," developed by TENT and Kawabe Shokai, has physically merged this redundant process. This isn't just a convenient gadget. It's a protocol that optimizes the "transfer of ingredients" from the kitchen to the dining table.

CHOPLATE is a plate that doubles as a cutting board.
But normally, if you use a knife on a plastic plate, it ends up covered in scratches. That's why they adopted "SPS resin," a special material also used in automotive parts and electronic devices.
Reinforced with glass fiber, this material is lightweight yet boasts astonishing hardness. It's tough enough to take on a knife, yet there's no worry of it shattering like ceramic. The texture, which produces a high-pitched "clink" when tapped, feels less like plastic and more like a "new kind of mineral."

At first glance, it looks like a flat plate with a matte finish. But behind that simplicity lies precise engineering designed to balance both "cutting" and "eating."
- Rim Height Design: The slightly raised edge (rim) catches juices from the food while staying just low enough that the knife handle won't bump into it.
- Textured Surface: The fine, rock-like unevenness on the surface keeps knife marks from standing out and prevents food from slipping.
- Microwave/Dishwasher Safe: Heat resistant up to 200°C. Reheat cold pizza in the microwave, then cut and eat it right then and there. The specs are perfectly tuned to modern lifestyles.

Bringing CHOPLATE into your home changes the scenery of the dining table.
Place a whole cake or freshly baked bread in the center of the table. Then, slice it on the spot, right before eating. The experience of eating something "freshly cut" alone elevates the flavor of the dish by several notches.
Especially in households with small children, the task of "cutting things into bite-sized pieces for the kids" can be completed right at the table instead of in the kitchen. No need to get up. No interruption to the conversation. This "seamless flow of time" is CHOPLATE's greatest function.

- Efficiency Enthusiasts (a.k.a. the lazy): People with the heartfelt wish to "reduce the dishes by even one."

So, what do you think?
CHOPLATE comes in three sizes: 174mm, 220mm, and 260mm. Try introducing just one at first, for your morning bread.
The guilty thrill of using a knife on a plate, and the pleasure of being allowed to do so. Once you've tasted this "direct" experience, you may never go back to a life of pulling out the cutting board.
