I want to eat curry bread in the morning. But the cost of doing so is far too high. Making the dough, wrapping the curry, deep-frying it in a large amount of oil. Or running to the convenience store.
Isn't there a way to easily enjoy that "crunchy," freshly-fried texture at home? KALDI Coffee Farm's "Spread and Bake Curry Bread" answers this wish through a chemical approach. This is not a curry sauce. It's a cream that generates a simulated "fried coating" on the surface of your bread.

| A "Texture Hack" Using Dried Potato

When you open the lid, you find a slightly grainy yellow paste inside. A look at the ingredients reveals the source of that graininess: "dried mashed potato" and "dried onion."
A normal curry paste, when toasted, simply becomes "curry-flavored damp bread." But this product is different. As the base fat (shortening) melts from the heat and soaks into the bread, the dried potato remaining on the surface enters a "shallow-fried" state under the toaster's heat.
Even without coating the bread in breadcrumbs, you get a crispness that surpasses breadcrumbs. This is an advanced texture hack that tricks the brain into a "fried illusion" by controlling the moisture content of the ingredients.

The paste form has clear functional reasons.
- Room-temperature storage UI: Even after opening, room-temperature storage (below 30°C) is recommended. If you put it in the fridge, the fat solidifies and it becomes hard to spread. Take it from the cupboard in the morning, spread it quickly. There's none of the "too hard to spread" stress you get with butter.
- Crispy edges: By spreading the paste all the way to the crust, the crust becomes as crispy as a snack chip.
- Aroma diffusion: As the fat melts, the spice aroma spreads explosively. In the few minutes it's toasting, your kitchen takes on the scent of a bakery's kitchen.

The instructions are surprisingly simple. Spread it on bread and toast for about 3 minutes. That's all.
When you look at the finished result, the surface has bubbled up slightly as if boiling and turned golden. Take a bite, and a satisfying "crunch!" rings out. Inside, the curry seasoning has melted into a gooey filling. Even though it wasn't fried, your mouth experiences pure curry bread.
What's more, it's less greasy than real curry bread. Each serving (12g) is about 90 kcal. The "stomach heaviness" bug characteristic of fried foods has also been patched out.
